Yuri Yakovlev: Varlamov should decide if he wants to play at Lokomotiv or in NHL

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl president Yuri Yakovlev said that the club is interested in Washington Capitals goalkeeper Semen Varlamov, although Varlamov had stated that the Yaroslavl club didn’t need him.

«It was strange to hear that from Semen. Both his agents phoned me half a month ago and last week. We discussed the possibility of Varlamov’s arrival in Yaroslavl. In this case I must stress that our club is interested in a goalkeeper of the highest level. Another thing is that Semen has to decide if he wants to play in the NHL or in our team himself,» stated Yakovlev as quoted by Sport-Express.

It was also reported today that SKA St. Petersburg are also interested in Varmalov.
