Mikhail Prokhorov: I am writing a biathlon training manual

President of the Russian Biathletes’ Union Mikhail Prokhorov has revealed he has been currently preparing a biathon training manual by himself.

According to Prokhorov, quoted in Sovetsky Sport, there has been a tangible shortage of teaching aids on biathlon: «There are no biathlon departments in Russian universities and there are no people qualified to teach there. I’m writing a training manual by myself translating it from Norwegian and German. I hired some other people – they have little to do with biathlon, they are just non-fiction compilers. Together we are trying to arrange the information in a consistent way so everyone could read and understand it».

«Throughout the world even the greatest footballers have to study at a trainers’ school in order to get their licence. Now I’m pushing forward the idea of the Russian Biathletes’ Union being entitled to licence coaches, because some of them don’t even know the basics.»

Mikhail Prokhorov is also the owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets and one of the richest men in Russia.
