Jaromir Jagr receives no formal offer from Avangard and is said to negotiate with SKA
The Czech Republic national team forward Jaromir Jagr, currenly awarded the Best Forward prize at the 2011 World Championship, has revealed that he did not receive any offers on contract extension from Avangard Omsk, in spite of the fact that Anatoli Bardin, the Russian club’s general manager, had arrived to Slovakia for negotiations.
«I have received a number of offers. However, there is nothing from Omsk among them. On paper I don’t have anything. We have just talked to Bardin about the intentions,» stated Jagr according to Sovetsky Sport.
«In fact, the Hawks have signed some excellent players like Denis Platonov and Alexander Frolov. I don’t know if they want me back in Omsk. I had an idea of staying for one season, but now it seems that Avangard don’t need me. Therefore, I will take a break and I wait.»
According to the latest report by the The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 39-year-old Czech has already started negotiations with SKA St. Petersburg.
