Portsmouth acquisition by Russian businessman may fall through
The acquisition of Portsmouth FC by the Russian businessman Vladimir Antonov and his company CSI may be on the verge of falling through. This information has become available to Sports.ru reporter Andrey Romashkin from a reliable source close to the deal.
CSI and its shareholder have already passed the English Football League’s fit and proper test and have provided all the required evidences of their financial stability. However, the current owners of Portsmouth Levi Kushnir and Balu Chainrai decided to change the terms of agreement, demanding additional 3 million pounds to the preliminary agreement. CSI and Antonov have refused to renegotiate the terms and may well pull out of the deal.
