SKA general manager Kasatonov: Negotiations with Jaromir Jarg still underway, Yashin case pending
SKA St. Petersburg general manager Alexei Kasatonov said that forward Maxim Sushinski will stay in the team, revealed that no decision had been made on Alexei Yashin, told who will help Milos Riha with the team, and reassured the public that the talks with Jaromir Jagr are still in progress.
«Sushinski has a contract. No decision on Yashin has been made yet. It will depend a lot on its health and Riha’s opinion.»
«Jagr? Many teams would like to have a forward of such a calibre. We are not an exception. The negotiations with Jagr are in progress. Hopefully, they will have an outcome that will benefit both parties.»
«Speaking about goaltenders: we already have Stepanek, a young and promising goalkeeper. We need one more experienced goaltender, so we’re waiting for the NHL season to end. Had we given a little more rest to the Czech during the last season, he probably would not have made that fatal mistake in the seventh game against Atlant five minutes from time.»
«As to our coaching staff, Riha will be assisted by Andrei Potaichuk and goalkeepers’ coach Jussi Parkkila from Finland, who has been working with Barulin at Atlant Mytishchi. In SKA we have kept Andrei Tochitski who is responsible for the search of new players and Alexei Gusarov who co-ordinates the relationships with out farm club HK VMF and the youth team SKA-1946,» stated Kasatonov as quoted by Sovetsky Sport.
