Terek Grozny vice-president becomes owner of Swiss club Xamax Neuchatel

The vice-president of Terek Grozny Bulat Chagaev has confirmed his acquisition of the Swiss top-division club Xamax Neuchatel. His new club is currently eighth out of the ten clubs of the Swiss Super League.

«I have decided to buy Xamax because I love football. How much did I have to pay? You’d better ask those who sold the club – I don’t remember. I just wanted to buy Xamax and I bought it», stated Chagaev according to TSR.

Chagaev  has also refuted the allegations of possible money laundering in the deal: «I buy goods in Swiss shops as anybody else does. Still nobody has ever told me: Monsieur Chagaev, we won’t sell you anything because your money is dirty. Money is money. If it’s ill-gotten, I’d like the authorities of Switzerland to tell me about it. But how they will tell it to me, if they do not know where did this money come from?»

Sports.ru repoted informed about Bulat Chagaev’s interest in the acquisition of Xamax in the middle of April.
