Severstal sign Swedish national team defender

Djurgarden defender Staffan Kronwall has signed a contract with KHL’s Severstal Cherepovets according to the official website of the Russian club.

Last season the 28-year-old Swede played 52 games in Elitserien, scoring 21 (7+14) points.

Kronwall is also one of the main players of  the Swedish national team. This season he took part in 7 Euro Hockey Tour games scoring 3 (1+2) points. He was also chosen to play at the upcoming Czech Hockey Games.

Among Kronwall’s previous clubs there are the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, and Calgary Flames, where he played a total of 66 games scoring 4 (1+3) points.
