Roman Pavlyuchenko: We were playing rugby in Kazan, not football

Lokomotiv Moscow striker Roman Pavlyuchenko voiced his disappointment at the conditions, which his side had to endure during their goalless draw against Rubin in Kazan.

«It wasn’t so much a game as a struggle. The surface made the game really difficult. It was more like rugby than football. It would have been easier to pick up the ball and throw it,» the former Tottenham man told Sport-Express.

«As for the result, our team didn’t lose, so the outcome is satisfactory,» he added.
