Ilya Kovalchuk: Ovechkin and Semin are playing well, so hopefully the Capitals will make the play-offs

New Jersey Devils forward Ilya Kovalchuk commented on the Washington Capitals’ chances of making the play-offs, led by his compatriots Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin.

«This season their team has been rather inconsistent, but now Ovechkin and Semin are getting back on form, so, hopefully, they can make the top eight» said the Russian forward.

«Their tactics are completely different now. Their head coach Hunter wants the team to win with a minimal advantage, which makes it harder for individuals to stand out. It was easier to shine individually with [former head coach] Bruce Boudreaux’s tactics, which he has successfully worked into his current team – Anaheim.
