Spartak’s Emmanuel Emenike charged with match fixing complicity inTurkey

Spartak Moscow forward Emmanuel Emenike was officially charged with involvement in match fixing in the Turkish league. Emenike is one of the dozens of Turkish players, coaches and officials persecuted by the police within the framework of the major corruption scandal that erupted in July.

The Nigerian was previously arrested by the Turkish police and held in detention for several days, but later released, after which he quickly transferred to Russia.

Meanwhile, according to Spartak sports director Dmitry Popov, the club hasn’t yet received any official requests or any other documents on Emenike from Turkish authorities.
