NY Islanders deny reports on Nabokov for Tyutin trade
New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow commented on the transfer rumors about the team’s goaltender Yevgeny Nabokov.
According to Snow, Islanders did not approach Nabokov with a request to allow the repeal of his contract provision preventing him from being traded. Thus, the information that Nabokov could be traded for the Columbus Blue Jackets defender Fyodor Tyutin proved to be false, according to ESPN.
This season, Nabokov spent five matches with the Islanders, with a shootout ratio of 91.11 percent.
